Funding Oct 13th, 2009 Huber Technology Prize 2010: Future Water2nd International Huber Technology Prize to be awarded by the Huber Technology Foundation: "Water supply and wastewater treatment - New solutions to old problems" Our resource water is scarce and not substitutable by any other resource even in the long run. Measures to ensure the sustainable use of water include loss-free transport to the consumers (men, industry and agriculture), using water sparingly and water qualities that suit the purpose of application, and fit-for-purpose treatment of wastewater for reuse. If such measures achieve technical improvement or optimized management or even lead to new approaches, the result can be significant improvement of the water situation. From the sum of all optimization models results even a considerably increased ’water efficiency’ in the sense of new solutions to ’old’ wellknown water and wastewater problems. » more » website Eco-innovation projects in Europe: good for the business, good for the environment. Call for proposals for actions in the field of eco-innovation under the 'Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme' Life is not always easy. Especially if your company has developed a new "green" solution that could really work but has still not found its place in the market. Through the Eco-innovation funding scheme, the EU wants to support innovative products, services and technologies that can make a better use of our natural resources and reduce Europe's ecological footprint. With its objective to bridge the gap between research and the market, CIP Eco-innovation contributes to the implementation of the Environmental Technologies Action Plan (ETAP). There is nearly € 200 million available to fund Eco-innovation projects between 2008 and 2013. Some 40 projects around Europe are in the pipeline to receive the first funds under the 2008 call. The call 2009 is open. The CIP Eco-innovation Call for proposals for first application and market replication projects under the EIP work programme 2009 has been launched. The call is closing on 10 September 2009. » more » documents
